Glenn has specialised in maritime law for over 40 years. He has huge experience, having been instructed in thousands of arbitrations, in many high-profile Court cases and numerous mediations.
He has acted for many of the same Clients (including Skuld, Spliethoff, Genco and Pacnav) for decades.
Career highlights include:
- Visiting Fellowship at the College of Law, University of Illinois.
- Acting for the successful carrier in The Starsin (House of Lords).
- Recovering over US $500 million in a series of arbitrations under Shipbuilding Contracts with Chinese Yards.
- LNG vessel named after him by John Fredriksen following a successful arbitration.
- Primary draftsman of the Inter-Club Agreement 1996.
- Primary draftsman of Skuld’s Rules (1996).
- Representing successful Owners (without Counsel) against Leading Counsel in an arbitration hearing relating to the construction of a standard war risk clause (The Paiwan Wisdom).
- Giving expert evidence on behalf of Total Transport Corporation in The Erika (Cour de Cassation in Paris).
- Acting in a mediation resulting in a claim in excess of US$100million being set-tled on a drop hands basis.
- Acting for the successful intermediate charterers (Sinochart) in defeating a claim for US $180 million The Ocean Victory (Supreme Court).
- Acting in a mediation in London and in Tema resulting in recovery of US $70 million.
